Kyra Holtzman: Kyra served multiple terms on the board, serving most recently as Interim President, though there was nothing “interim” about it–she served with graciousness the entire year and kept her promise to keep our meetings to one hour. She stayed on top of everything that needed her attention and participated in many fundraising events. Ever willing to lend a hand, she used her specific skills to put some final touches on a necessary letter to the IRS. We are very grateful for her service and willingness to help the new board with our transition!
Martha S. Lee: Martha pulled double-duty as the Vice President and Development Chair last year. She oversaw the best year of fundraising the association has ever had with effective communication and delegation abilities. Under her kind leadership, the association hosted two successful parent parties, including a fun silent auction helping to raise even more necessary funds for the UHSPA. She was frequently a welcoming face on behalf of the UHSPA at many school events. Martha will be sorely missed as a vital asset to and fount of knowledge for our organization.
Sonia Apodaca-Harms: If we could somehow gift Sonia extra arms and more hours in her day, it might compensate for all the things she had to juggle in her many roles in the UHSPA, most recently as Secretary. She was integral in meeting our needs for communications to parents as well as making sure we were all able to buy UHS branded items. Her background in arts and film allowed us to have many ways to convey our messages we would otherwise not have had. We all agree that Sonia will be missed and hope we can live up to her legacy here.
David Mogollon: David brought a delightful, insightful and humorous presence in his role as Parliamentarian. He was active in his role as a member of committees as well, and was supportive of his fellow penguin parents in all aspects of his volunteerism. We wish David the very best and thank him for his considerate help with the UHSPA.
